About me
Assalamalikum, firstly we shall introduce ourselves then tell you about how we came to be best of friends alhamdulillah.
So me, well I converted to Islam in Oct 2003 after sort of looking into the religion off and on for just over a year. I met my future husband while looking into islam, yes I didnt do it for him but for myself! I moved over to Canada july 2004 and have been here ever since, I hope to move back to UK insha’allah at some point in the next year. I enjoy everyday things, chatting with friends, playing on my computer, Im a big reader
and I like extreme sports, just started snowboarding which I love and Ive been involved in sky diving and bungee jumping, I also love to horse ride.
Now, me and sakina… we met while I was looking into Islam I joined a form on islamway and met a few girls that lived in my country. I formed a few bonds masha’allah but even less I now have, God knows best. I started talking to a girl who lived not far from me at university, after awhile chatting we decided to meet up so I took the bus over to her city to meet her and her sister. This was all before I converted mind you, we went to an islamic conference but the only thing I remember frm that was buying a hijab for under 2 pounds, someone asking sakina to meet their son or something and being shouted at for talking during the conference. Yes, I wasnt really into the conference feel, it was hard… I was only used to it from university and didnt really gain much from lectures there
anyways, I converted and sakina was there for me from then on.. she came to visit me at university in Bradford, we would check out the asian clothing shops, the islamic shops, the arab cafes.. ooh the mint tea!!! we talked about everything and she was a rock for me during that time. I spent my first Eid with her and we met up several times over Ramadhan, i couldnt tell you how often we met up but I think its safe to say probably at least every other week… it was so nice to have someone there for me to talk to about islam and the new muslim world. Thanks to God our worlds entwined even more after that, although Im only seeing that now. She got married when I graduated, and went on to have her children while I live in Canada, but we both have relationships with Algerians (hers more physical than mine obviously as Im not married yet) and now we talk about getting a house next to each other in Algiers insha’allah
My h2b has met sakina and knows how much she means to me… enough to say that if we got a house next to each other he would have 2 wives lol.. no disrespect to Sakinas husband. Her husband has met me alhamdulilah and the 2 men are actually from the same area in Algiers.. Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) truly brought us together for a reason.. and I cant imagine my life without her.
